A Wee Bit about Celtic Jewelry Origin

The Celts were people that occupied land from the Northern British Isles through Ireland and down to Galatia - Spain. The people who made up the various tribes of Celts are called Keltoi by the Greeks - Literally  meaning barbarian. It is from the greek Keltoi that Celt is derived. Several Languages or dialects was derived from the Celts. Gaelic languages spoken in Ireland Scotland and Wales give their heritage to the Celts. Variations were spoken other places as well. 

Celtic designs are very particular and detailed in nature, but their patterns are often amazingly simple.  For example the  Spirals found in many designs are thought to be inspired by the snail. Others say the spirals are symbols for eternal life - everlasting life.  The spirals were also commonly carved into rock and jewelry as well.

Celtic knot work symbols are the basis of the  metaphysical Celtic Jewelry. It symbolizes the connection with Earthly and Heavenly Matters. It links to the Sacred, the Spiritual, the metaphysical in nature. The patterns are similar in meaning to the Sacred Pyramids, Stonehenge and other metaphysical symbols and places.
